A series of burglaries have occurred in Chandler’s Ford between 18:00 on 26/11/2017 and 18:00 on 02/12/2017. These incidents have occurred in the areas of Gardner Way, Apsley Place, Cranford Gardens, Octavia Gardens and Verona Road.

Did you see or hear anything that could assist us with our enquiries? No matter how small or unimportant it may seem it could help.

Please contact us on 101 or via email: eastleigh.police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk

There are certain measures you can take to reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim yourself, such as:
Check your insurance documents for any specific security requirements or upgrades.
Ensure side gates are locked to prevent access to the rear of the property.
Ensure rear fencing is in good repair.
Lock all windows and doors, remembering to double lock UPVC doors (lift handle and turn key)
Keep all keys out of reach and sight from the letterbox (remember a device could be used to hook keys through the letterbox).
Do not leave ladders and garden tools in your garden, lock them away in your shed.
Improve natural surveillance at the front of your property i.e. trim high hedges.
Consider fitting security lighting and a burglar alarm.
Mark your property with postcode and house number and register your property for free with www.immobilise.com
Make use of timer switches to make the property appear occupied.
Get a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.
Consider joining or forming a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
Remove valuables from view of ground floor windows.
Store any high value items (i.e. jewellery, passports) in a properly secured safe or bank vault.
Please report any suspicious activity to the police on 101 or anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Millers Dale Aniversary

ImageMy husband and I live in Cranford Gardens north Millers dale, and very much enjoyed reading your  February newsletter.  I don’t know whether Cranford Gardens residents have any plans to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.  However, there may be another cause for celebration on this part of the estate, as on August 4th we celebrate thirty years in our house.  We moved in when it was newly built and the end of the cul-de-sac was still under construction.  At the very least this might make an interesting item for the Newsletter even if we don’t get together for the celebration.  We have a number of photos which were taken when the houses were still under construction all that time ago.  A number of the houses have been sold and re-occupied, but there are still a few of the original residents here.Image
All best wishes
