Kindly supplied by Mr Rawlings are the original sales brochures for the housing development that became North Millers Dale. I have scanned them in and they are available to look at here. Interestingly, hand written on, are the prices these houses were selling for at the time, around 1980. Click the brochures to view.
For those of you unable to get to the NMDCA AGM on Tuesday 30th June the warm evening started with a refreshing glass of Pimms. Chairman Richard Mollon reviewed the work of the NMDCA over the last year. He welcomed two new additions to the committee who will join us at our regular meetings to discuss issues and plan forthcoming events.
Some of the residents raised the problems encountered by users of the Hall. They were finding the extra Nursery equipment was making alternative uses more and more difficult. If other people have also experienced issues with either the booking or use of the Hall please let us know so we can raise it with Yellow Dot.
Future events were discussed including a themed 70s-80s night with live entertainment and an ever popular quiz later in the year.
On Tuesday 16th June 2015 a small but enthusiastic group were taken on an instructive tour of the Flexford Nature Reserve adjacent to North Millers Dale. It was a delightfully warm summers evening and Clare, our guide of the Reserve from the Wildlife Trust, took us through the varied habitats represented, just a stones throw from our homes. Even regular walkers were treated to some fascinating sights that could have been easily bypassed on a casual walk. The icing on the cake was being shown two different Orchids growing wild.
Thanks to everyone who attended the North Millers Dale Community Association Annual General Meeting held in the community hall on Wednesday 3rd July. The evening started with a glass of Pimms as people arrived. The meeting was opened by Chairman Richard Mollon and in addition to the formal meeting items there was items some lively debate including antisocial behavior on the estate and traffic light phasing. Councillor Pam Holden Brown committed to reporting the comments to the council.
